Out with the old...

It's time again to usher out the old year and welcome the new and what is to come. I'm not much of a resolution maker. I pretty much stick to the tried and true "lose weight, get in shape, eat healthy, bla bla bla". I'm also going to try my darnedest to not use credit cards this year so we can dig out way out of debt. We'll see how long that lasts :) 2007 was a decent year for us in retrospect. Jeff was able to keep the same job for the whole year!! Doesn't sound amazing to most people but it is near a record for us. I became a SAHM this year and it is pretty great. I don't miss the driving but I do miss my friends I used to work with. Next fall I will become a full time chauffer driving the kids back and forth to school when Natalie enters Kindergarten. My Tupperware business is taking off a little bit too and I hope to continue it into the next year and beyond.

I also joined a couple of MI mommy internet boards and have met some amazing ladies on there. It is one of the best things I have done for myself.

I hope everyone has a great 2008!!

And Now It's Done

So the big build-up for Christmas is over, and so it the aftermath letdown. Natalie was pretty upset when present time was done, that she didn't get more. Don't get me wrong, the girl is thrilled with what she got. I think that being 4 and having a whole day where you spend most of it opening presents can be a bit overwhelming. Gabby was thrilled with most of what she got too, except for the Cinderella dress. Silly me for thinking that she would want to play dress up with her sister (because the day I ordered it, that is just what she was doing). Oh well, can't please everybody all the time.

Here's to a great 2008!

One week!

The countdown has begun, Santa will be here in less than a week, folks! I hope you're all being nice!! We have not even begun the wrapping process yet in our house. In fact, Jeff hasn't even done my shopping with the kids yet. He claims he's going to do that tomorrow when he has the day off. We'll see how that goes. Natalie's last day is tomorrow and we have her party. Gabby is done on Friday and is having a holiday's around the world party at school. I'm sure this week is going to fly by. I haven't even taken them to see Santa yet and I shudder at the thought of standing in a long line this weekend, but Gabby asked to go see him and it's such a big part of growing up that I have to take her.

Onto the kitchen front. I have an Amish Friendship bread starter that is ready too make today and I just don't feel like doing it, but I will. If nothing else, I can at least say I made it once. I told Grandma I'd bring some over for her to try, so I hope it turns out good so at least I won't be a kitchen failure like my mom :)

Finding Freebies

So you should know that I am a HUGE bargain hunter. I LOVE a great deal, if it's something I need (much as I'd like to, I don't just go out and get things only because it's a great deal, hubby keeps me in check on that :)). I've been sniffing around the web for some great contests and giveaways and have found a few. 5MinutesForMom is giving away $200 for True Jeans!! They also have some other goodies on their site for giving away. How does an Insignia Shelf System from Best Buy sound? Check them out!! I sure did :)

Bargains Galore

I went to Goodwill last Friday and found superb bargains!! Gabby is growing like a weed and needed some new shirts that her back and belly didn't stick out in. I went and found Old Navy, Children's Place, Gap, etc clothes for her all nearly new for $1.99 each!! I also got Hubby some shirts for $3.29 and Natalie a fancy Holiday dress for $1.99 that she is very excited to wear.

Love Free Stuff!!!!!

I had my unit meeting for Tupperware last night. We were told to bring a $5 gift to put under the tree. I gave an eggnog scented Home Interiors candle I bought when Natalie's school was selling them. I got a Christmas snow globe. Gabby has been wanting a snow globe for months and was so excited when I showed it to her this morning.

My friend dropped off a starter of Amish Friendship bread last night. I'm kinda excited to do this. It's on day 4 of 10.

Also when I got home I saw a box on the table and I for the life of me could not figure out what it was. There wasn't anything I was waiting for to be delivered that I purchased so I was at a loss. I opened it up and it was the i-need back massager I ordered with my zoom points!!! I cannot wait to try it out! I plugged it in to make sure it worked and held it on my back and ... ahhhhhhh. It'll be even better when I put it in my chair and lean against it.

Snow Day

Well, it's not a real snow day. I made one up today for purely selfish reasons. I didn't feel like driving Gabby to school this morning. I am sure she isn't the only one that will be missing the day because of a sleet storm that is to continue all day and night. I think they may be rethinking why they even had school today anyways. The sleet/freezing rain didn't start until nearly 7am when people are already on their way to school. I hope Gabby isn't missing too much work today. It is getting close to Christmas so they aren't doing a ton of work. She does have a project she needs to do but left that at Grandma's house yesterday so we will have to venture out some time today to pick that up so she can work on it.

Ice, Ice Baby

Well, it is December so it is no surprise that there is snow on the ground and it's cold. It sure would be nice of the city plows to spread a little magic sand on our street though. It's very pretty, if it were a pond instead of a road. Really the only effective way of getting up the street would be to put on skates. It is a nearly solid sheet of ice from the top of the hill to the bottom. I've taken to driving down the street in front of the house and going out that way to the main roads. It beats burning up my tires (which is what I did this morning trying to get home from taking kids to school). They have plowed one street up 3 times since it started snowing and raining, then freezing, but no other streets in our neighborhood. I just don't get that. If it was just snow I really wouldn't care because at least then there would be some traction to get up the hill. Now my days are filled with listening to cars spin their tires trying to get some momentum to get up to the main road.

My aching head!

What the heck. My head has seriously been pounding and spinning for a week now. I feel like crap and hardly look forward to going to the dentist tomorrow for round 2 of root canal. I just hope being upside down in the chair with the drill buzzing my brain does not cause me to lurch. I guess I really should find a regular doctor one of these days and get this head spinning checked out. I thought perhaps it was a form of vertigo since it came on suddenly one morning as I rolled back over in bed after slamming the snooze button for the 3rd time that morning. It has gotten somewhat better but is still very much there. If I bend down or tip my head certain ways I nearly black out. I JUST WANT TO BE BACK TO NORMAL ALREADY!! I'm still holding out hope that I will wake up miraculously cured one of these mornings though.

Welcome to my blog!!

Hey! I've finally taken that giant leap to getting my own blog space other than the drivel I post to Myspace. So, what do you think so far?? I like to write and share my thoughts, and my husband gets sick of hearing them, so what better place to put them down than in cyberspace. I hope you enjoy my babbling as much as I like to spew it.
